Gran son drops two deer in 6 days.

Well, Ben our #2 grandson, just turned 9 last month, got his first buck Thanksgiving afternoon. About a 35, 40 yd shot, and he ran maybe 40 or so yds. before he collapsed.
We hadn't even been in the blind 10 mins., it came out of the woods right behind a doe.
I'm sitting, and he's standing. He looks at me and points and says two deer. Before I can slowly turn to look, he says it's a buck. I said, "Get the rifle. Take it slow." I flip the safety for him, he lays it on the top edge of the side of the blind, lines up and squeezes the trigger. I'm watching the deer, I knew he hit it, but wasn't sure if it was a good hit. I took the rifle, following the deer and about the time I find it in the scope, it falls right over. It twitched for a second and expired about the time he got to it.
He got his first last weekend, a small doe. That was about a 100 yd shot and dropped it in her tracks.
He's definitely on a roll. Both were taken with a 62gr. jsp loaded over some cfe.
Glad I got to share in the experience, watching him light up, the smile and the excitement was Awesome.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Yep! The smile says it all. I bet you were doing a little grinning too. The young man is fortunate to have a grandpa like you!
