Dave, from what I've been told about MIM, there is only so much you can remove from the outer surface before you break through to the softer internal stuff. Remove too much and you risk part failure. There's plenty of surface for stoning and fine polishing/tumbling, but actual filing can be tricky. I'm no expert, of course

A couple of other options I’m considering are the S&W 317 Airweight and the Ruger LCRX 3”. Stopped into the LGS yesterday and looked at the Ruger. It’s nice and lightweight and would be a good fit for mrs hatchdog.
