Gators - big un's and little un's. Have a hunting season for gators. Cottonmouths. Snappers. Various waterfowl. Occasionally a small car.

Saw a flock of swans fly over yesterday looking for open water I bet. None around here yet.

What we get in our pool every year are Alligator Snapping Turtles. They dig under the fence and dive right in. Wild west show with a net to get them out as they go straight to the bottom and sit there.

Many years ago we had a pair of farm goose. Because of the coyotes, we had to pen them up every night. According to my wife that was a Rodeo hoot of show to watch too. I'm still get pissed off thinking of all the chasing I did.

Plenty of natives as well, water rats, ducks, crayfish even the occasional platypus, a little bit of gold as well when I can be bothered to spend a few hours panning.

Thanks. He or she has been hanging around for a couple months now. We also have a Bobcat that's been around for about a year.

For those who don't know, the Nutria are a terribly invasive species that are very damaging to dykes and dams. We had them in Virginia and our friend who allowed us to fish the five ponds on his 500 acre Black Angus farm was happy to have us pop any we saw. They had invaded two of the five ponds and were busily boring holes in the dams at water level.

They had gotten so bad in New Orleans at one point, I know that midnight patrol officers were shooting them with suppressed scoped Ruger rifles to try and slow the population explosion and damage to the dykes there. I saw it on the discovery channel. Some of the more active officers were shooting as many as fifty a night during mid-week overnight shifts.

They are also supposed to be tasty.

I have another I will try to post. Found it couple days ago on my camera mounted on the creek bridge. 3 deer jumping over the creek instead of using bridge 8 ft away from their jump spot and later a fox doing same thing. Maybe need to post them a sign!
