Sure would like a 35 Remington
Sure would like a 35 Remington
My old Marlin 336 is propped up over there against the wall. It sends a 200 grain slug downrange with authority. The 336 is a really nice rifle, but it suuuure would be nice if Henry would do a 35 Remington. Seems to me it nicely fills the slot between 30-30 and 45-70.

I agree ditto.
I have 3 at the moment, one Savage, and two Marlins.
A caseharden BBS would be a nice addition.

Re: Sure would like a 35 Remington
I would like to see a case colored Henry 35 Remington with the pistol grip stock. I am one of the few I guess that can't stand the straight grip stocks. Maybe OK to look at but not for shooting for me.

If that were an option, I’d likely buy it that way, too.bandit1250 wrote:I would like to see a case colored Henry 35 Remington with the pistol grip stock. I am one of the few I guess that can't stand the straight grip stocks. Maybe OK to look at but not for shooting for me.

Re: Sure would like a 35 Remington
Not a fan of straight grip stocks for shooting, either, all the more so when shooting the heavy hitters like a 45-70. MUCH prefer a pg with a gun that has serious recoil.
The 35 Remington is a great old cartridge and, I agree, be a shame to see it dwindle away like some of the other great vintage cartridges have done. Have to chuckle, though, when I see folks getting all excited about the new 350 Legend, as if a 35 is something new and revolutionary.
By the way, the 35 Remington has been a popular chambering for the Contender, down through the years. Still a lot of those barrels around.

Re: Sure would like a 35 Remington
Add me to that list, too. I have a .35 Rem in a Model 141 pump, but I'd add another if Henry would chamber either the single shot or lever for it. The 350 Legend looks like a not quite as good as the .35 Remington cartridge. But it's close, I guess

Funny, as I'm nowhere near bandit's or NCG ability, but I don't like to shoot the straight stocks either, though I prefer their looks. In my case it just messes with my grip which seems to effect my POI.

Re: Sure would like a 35 Remington
I would surely have to have one of them.
I already have a Marlin cut to 16.5", the All weather would be sweet though.

Re: Sure would like a 35 Remington
I’m guessing it would have the pistol grip. Still... my H009 has a straight stock but it’s softer shooting than a Marlin 336 with a pistol grip.
