-25 again but wind has started so a warm Chinook wind from the Pacific can't be far off. Next week into the warmer weather. Tea time.

Good morning everybody!
It's 46°, damp and misty. If there's any other weather outside, I can't see it.
Have a great day, and enjoy your brew.

G'morn, a brisk 33* and brewing, I know some of you laugh when us southerners think 30's is cold but for us it is. We have seen minus teen's... wait a minute let me finish (windchill factor) and that's paralyzing for us
Re: Our mornin Coffee and Weather
why is it so much warmer there than here? your up in the snow world areaLes wrote:Good morning everybody!![]()

Up earlier than usual this morning, woke at 4:30 eastern time, some nights just can't get more than 4 or 5 hours. The first gust of wind bringing in the cold air just made the house "creak" and I had to put on my field jacket, hood and gloves to go out to the driveway to get the morning newspaper. The thermometer out back reads 19* as I have my cup of Java Gold Dark Roast along with a cereal bar. But this cold snap is to last for only 3 days and then back to a high of 47* by Sunday.

Re: Our mornin Coffee and Weather
Tape, the simple answer is ....... I don't know. I do know that our weather is influenced in general by the Gulf Stream, an Atlantic Ocean current that runs from the Gulf of Mexico to the western side of Ireland/UK. It is also influenced by the Jet Stream, which is a rotational polar air current. Add to that the proximity of the European mainland, and it all goes towards affecting our weather.Tape wrote:why is it so much warmer there than here? your up in the snow world area
When we get the northerly winds from the polar region, or the north-easterly winds from Siberia, then it does get really cold (by our standards) with plenty of ice and snow, but fortunately we haven't had any of that so far this year.

Re: Our mornin Coffee and Weather
It is snowing again here in Western Montana.
My husband has been going to the range more often since he is retired. He still shoots in the cold and snow as I always did only I don't go if my arthritis is really bad.
He has been shooting 45acp and 45-70 lately.
He has been reading more books since he is retired.
He still walks on a regular basis.
I enjoy having him around since he is retired and we have not driven each other nuts yet! LOL
We have watched some nice Christmas shows on PBS too.
We did not go to the hot springs with the snow coming down this winter so far. There is one place where I like to swim in the outdoor pool with the snow coming down but the pool is warm! Getting in and out is a you know what! Grin. Caution: ICE ON DECK!
The ski resorts are ready too. I do not snow ski. My husband is not into skiing either.

Ah yes, and a blustery -4° with wind chill equaling -23° and warming to maybe 0 today. Think I'll go hiking.

Re: Our mornin Coffee and Weather
Pretty chilly here this morning (not compared to the rest of the country I supposed). Looking at heavy rain for the next two days which is still much needed so no complaints here. Have a good one.

Re: Our mornin Coffee and Weather
Sorry I'm a little late for morning coffee. Still -15 here and snowing again. Next week should hit zero and I'm off to the range. Been awhile hope I remember how to shoot.

Good morning everybody!
It's 42° with partly cloudy skies and the sun is trying to break through, so it looks like it should be a good day. I've got trips to two indoor clubs to make, so it will be an excellent day!
I hope you all enjoy your brews as much as I'm enjoying my tea.

2* at 6:00 AM. I just went out and got a few pieces of wood for the furnace and it didn't feel bad with out the wind. I will get the fire going with the wood and then put the coal to it and that will warm it up. Having my Henry mug of coffee while it fires up. Have a nice day and a great week end.

Re: Our mornin Coffee and Weather
I'm having a second cup in my Scout Jamboree mug. I have to snowblow the driveway before work. We got some bad weather yesterday. Perfect for the company Christmas party.
Cate, I'm glad you are enjoying your husband's retirement. I'm especially glad he is enjoying it too. I retired once and recommend it to everyone. It gave me something to look forward to when I retire again. I'm getting used to working full time and part time.
Enjoy your day.
