A rainy weekend ahead here with 70 today and 66 tomorrow. It will be good for our fire situation. I’ll be in the shop welding new rockers into my Power Wagon, and then spraying the bed and gate.

Perfect day for those tasks. Same weather here and we did get a little rain overnight. Hopefully more tonight. The big Spokane outdoor basketball tourney starts tomorrow so I hope we get lots of rain in the overnight hours and staying dry during the day for dry courts.
My indoor plans for today is to replace all the smoke detectors in the house. The current detectors are 10 years old and at the end of life. So far three of the 10 have failed and those are replaced. Seven more to go. All three that failed did so in the overnight hours waking us up. I’m starting to think the engineers design them to fail in the nighttime hours. Sure gets your attention.

54 and partly cloudy heading to the upper 60’s later. Not much in the way of rain expected today which is great for the big outdoor basketball tournament in downtown Spokane today and tomorrow. Sunday was expected to be a washout with lots of rain but the forecast has changed for the better for the hoopsters. Most of the rain is expected to stay to the east.
Looks like a good weekend for me to do some mowing in the non watered areas around. I wait for wet conditions for both comfort (no dust) and safety (no fires starting if I hit a rock).

My field was bailed today. This is the earliest it’s been baled in the five summers I’ve been here. Its also the fewest bales. I counted 15 bales on 20 acres. I’m thinking he might harvest it twice.

54 again this morning with a high around 70 expected. A light overcast that will have to burn off in order to reach 70. The rain held off yesterday for the basketballer’s in downtown Spokane. And….it’s expected to hold off again today at least until later in the afternoon.
Not enough rain for me to mow my treed areas but I did get my trail mowed. Pretty dusty but with a tow behind mower the dust stays behind me. Mowing the trees will be on a riding mower and if dusty I’ll be right in it.

But the rain is supposed to happen tomorrow and Tuesday so I’ll wait. Instead I’ll mow the lawn and clean guns.

we are back home in North Carolina with high temps accompanied by high humidities after spending a week in South Dakota where we experienced comfortable temps with much lower humidity .... 82 with a RealFeel of 97 at 11AM, forecasted high 88 followed by an overnight low of 71 .... yesterday was spent driving cross country .... most of today will be spent resting, unpacking, cleaning, and getting back into our normal routine

Yesterday we had 3 waves of heavy rain and hail pass over us. So much water that the gutters on the house couldn't handle it. Like living behind a waterfall.
54' and cloudy this morning. Maybe 69' later and some sun before sunset.
