Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
77 @ 5:30PM on May 31st under a high cloud cover ... forecasted high for today 79 with a following overnight low of 62 .... 50 - 50 chance of thunderstorms rolling through tomorrow morning .... with the exception of infrequent years when we have a team capable of going late into the Stanly Cup playoffs, hockey doesn't have large, enthusiastic following in our part of the country .... this happens to be one of those years .... Carolina Hurricane banners are flying and ticket scalpers are making big bucks .... I haven't watched a hockey match this year but do plan to tune in the playoffs

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Currently 48 with the sun trying to get over the horizon. 73 later with sunshine expected. Maybe a rain shower or two tomorrow. We’ve had some on and off rain lately keeping the humidity up and the grass green.
Today’s golf day heading over to Idaho to play a course I haven’t played in several years. While in Idaho I’ll fill up the gas tank at about .80 per gallon less than here in WA.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
63 @ 10AM on Tues June 2nd under high clouds that don't show up on weather radar .... they say we have a chance of rain within the next hour but from what I can see out the window and on radar, that doesn't seem likely .... forecasted high 78 followed by an overnight low of 48 .... we had to cancel a physical therapy appoint for Maureen that was scheduled for this morning because she wasn't feeling up to it .... we've heard that there is a stomach bug going around and it appears she picked it up somewhere

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Right on schedule, first week in June and the Alligator Snapping Turtles are in my yard laying eggs.
Tonight the racoons will dig them up and have a feast. Happens every year.
I only hope they don't get into the swimming pool again.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
53 out and 73 in the house. Time to leave a window or two open at night. Some distant rumbles of thunder last night but no rain. As I recall today should see the 70’s and be sunny.
We decided to sell our property up north that my wife inherited from her uncle 18 years ago. When he died it was a big mess with crap everywhere and a shack that he called a home. We spent the first year cleaning it up and had the shack demolished. Over the years we have had a great time there always staying in whatever RV we had at the time. We have done lots of grouse hunting on the timber company land behind and lots of ground squirrel hunting in the pasture. Last year’s wildfire that burned within a half mile scared us a bit. That along with the fact we don’t get up there very often anymore led us to the decision to sell.
The guy who lives next door had expressed interest in buying it a couple of years ago so we contacted him first. He along with his two sisters wanted to buy it and about a month ago agreed to a price. Things were progressing to slow for them to complete the deal and they asked for another 40 - 60 days to get the funds. This made us decide to list it with a realtor so I spent a couple of days up there mowing earlier this week. This must have sparked them into action and one of the sisters was able to do a loan on her home and come up with the funds. We’re meeting them up there today to sign a purchase agreement and collect the earnest money. We’re working with an attorney located up there who will do the escrow.
Sad to see it go but lots of happy memories.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Totally understand your decision Hatch. We are looking at all of our assets and trying to decide what is most practical for us as well. We have our beloved cottage up in the mountains, but our time up there in recent years has been limited for various reasons. Not sure what we will end up doing, Life is much too short.

Wind Speed S 6 mph
Barometer 29.97 in
Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81.
Southwest wind around 10 mph
A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
I have a similar problem and I live on the property. I have lots of dead Ash trees
along with some Oak and I worry about the fire hazard. I'm 85 but still pretty active
but I simply cannot keep up with the dead wood. I do have a couple of folks who
want to cut firewood for Winter, so we shall see.
