I have some battery cables on order from the more and more unreliable Amazon that were supposed to be delivered yesterday. Now today with no time shown. Grrrrr I wanted to get my four wheeler in action today and need the cables to do so. Regardless I have some tractor work to do first so at least I can get that done.
I put these on my equipment for the Winter.

I do the same for the batteries I leave out in the cold. The smaller batteries like this one I bring indoors for the winter. The cables I am waiting for are just 9” 4ga cables. To attach the cables on the four wheeler is really tight and a pain in the asterisk to get them hooked up. My plan is to keep these 9” extensions on the battery all the time so I can make the connection in a more assessable place. I don’t want to go to the trouble to install that battery without them only to do it all over again in a day or two. But it annoys me as I have a cart full of pinecones I want to tow down to my dumping place so I can fill the cart again.

86 at 6:23PM under a partly cloudy sky .... they say it will reach a high of 88 today, doubt it will make it .... they say it will drop to 61 tonight .... no rain .... its been a somewhat weird day .... a sudden mid morning power outage which Duke Power attributed to "damaged equipment" lasted for just under 4 hours .... our youngest son came over and fixed a water leak in our daughter's washing machine .... took our 10 year old grandson fishing in a neighbor's pond .... in short, one thing after another

20F and sunny with no wind. Looks to be the start of a good day. My driveway is still impassable all the way although I can make it about 60% of the way. Maybe two more days and I can drive all the way.

29 and clear skies today. High mid 50’s. Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day and we saw 60 and sunshine. I have a nice fire going and enough wood for another 2-3 days morning fires.

Speaking of firewood tomorrow is expected to be a rainout so should be a good day to continue my wood splitting for next season. Thankfully my wood shed/splitting area is covered. Originally I had planned to only put a roof over the wood storage area but my wife convinced me to extend the roof over the splitting area too. Thank you Mrs hatchdog. :D

Our mid 90’s heat wave is over. I would say today is California perfect.
