Holy global warming Batman I saw that northern Texas, LA, GA, etc is about to get hit with some winter weathers.

Here where winter is normal we are at 28 with once again winter gloom overcast skies. No sun until maybe Friday. A minor cold spell is on the way with lows in the teens just a few days it looks like.

Today is motor day, plan to run some motors on the RV, a couple of generators and my tractor has not been started for several weeks.

41 at noon under a beautifully clear Carolina Blue Sky .... forecasted high 50 falling to an overnight low of 34 .... if they are right, this will be our last night that doesn't fall below freezing for the next 10 days .... during that time some of the low temps are expected to be in single digits .... Saturday they say our high will be 32 followed by a night time low of 27 .... don't recall ever seeing only a 5 degree difference between a day's high and low temp .... looks like a nasty weather spell is rapidly approaching .... weather notice for Saturday --"Very cold with periods of snow, sleet, and freezing rain; threat of major ice storm with extended power outages and extensive tree damage"

I’m not planning on going anywhere for the next three days. We have been getting an inch of snow almost everyday and it’s getting deeper. It’s really not a record but more of a constant battle. Now with the bitter cold I don’t want to start my car or tractor. Better to just wait it out. If the drifting keeps up I’ll be snowed in by morning.

I just came in from plowing. I had my choice of the old Bronco or the Kubota and for today I chose the Kubota. If it gets deeper or drifting I will choose the Bronco. A lot more horsies.

Right now it's 23 but tonight we head into the deep freeze for the rest of the week. I brought in as much firewood as I have room to store, we have plenty of food and water, the propane tanks were filled a couple of days ago, our Generac ran its weekly test yesterday and reported that it's just fine, so let's hunker down for a few days.

I shoveled a path to my heated workshop so if I feel the urge I can go up there and do some woodworking.

Life is good.
