That is a Beautiful rifle. Job well done. I like the saddle ring which I usually put on most of my levers, I think on my Evil Roy I used the Henry Saddle ring.

Just put through a 100 rounds on mine. Just so much fun. Was using Rem Thunderbolts that I had and never shot. Had a 3x9 Tasco on it. Hardly left the bulls eye @100 meters. My first Henry that I got about 6 yrs ago back in Illinois at a gun shop that is sadly no longer. It was run by a delightful lady who knew more about guns then I would ever know.

I prefer to shoot Thunderbolts out of my 22lr's also. 40 gn. and shoot great.

Mine likes Winchester 36grhp and the Winchester small game 40gr hp. These have the POI, how can I get so lucky!

Looks shockingly familiar!Vaquero wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 6:22 pmI made something similar years ago before Henry ever came out with the ER.
I stripped the reciever cover and barrel band, but instead of leaving it shiny. I let mine tarnish then clear coated it. Also stripped the factory finish on the stocks and finished them with boiled linseed oil.
A few years leter I found an old Winchester saddle ring and d&t'd the reciever and installed it.

Re: Small Game Carbine
I have that same rifle in .44, what a great rifle. Mine has LOP cut to 12.5" and Marbles Bullseye sight on it. Compact and very good running rifle.

Re: Small Game Carbine
I have it in .44 as well, but it is an older one (2015) which has the slow twist barrel. It was not a great shooter at all (my .357 is shockingly good!), but Henry just put a new 1:20 barrel and mag tube on it for me (free of charge) so I am in the process of dialling it in with its new 1-6x Vortex I have high hopes for it now.jstanfield103 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 7:35 amI have that same rifle in .44, what a great rifle. Re: Small Game Carbine
Thought I would update. I couldn't get use to the Guide series and the partage front sights. I have shot beaded sights all my life and Skinner sells the Marbles. I ordered the Marbles in .530 and installed. With the Skinner sight installed with the 1.5 turns half a turn later and it was sighted in. I put two more sights on my rifles From Skinner with beads and got them both sights in also.
