We own that movie and still enjoy watching it.Deadwood Dutch wrote:RanchRoper wrote:My big question is; now that your election is over, what am I supposed to watch on TV? Back to Wheel of Fortune I guess.
Watch a good western tonight on AMC, "Open Range," if you get it.
We may (?) watch PATTON on Friday night. We still own that and we did not donate that one to the library with all of the others over the last couple of years.
I think that my husband may want to start LONESOME DOVE which is on our dvd set too. We have the book too. We have watched it many times.
I think that I watched LONESOME DOVE with my late husband if it was 'out' before cancer discovery and death. I don't remember the L.D. production date offhand. We liked shows like that too.
Since my husband has retired, he has been watching a bunch of his JOHN WAYNE movies.
Added more:
I should add this. I enjoy almost all of the movies that my husband likes too. Most of the time, we watch them together.
Good news here too. His body CLOCK is adjusting to a normal schedule slow but sure since he retired. Mine is still goofed up somewhat! Grin.

L Dove came out in 1989 I believe. That is a classic and I was very honored to meet Robert Duvall in 2006 and shake hands with "Gus".
If you get a chance Cate check out the prequel "Comanche Moon". The 2 actors who played Gus and Call are terrific. Steve Zahn and Karl Urban. It was a 2 part mini-series a couple of years ago. Based on McMurtry's book of the same name.

Good morning everybody!
It's cold, windy and very wet, but the heating is on and so is the kettle, so I'll stop whining now and leave you to enjoy your cuppa's!
Have a great weekend.

24* at 6:45 AM. Having my coffee and waiting on my wife to get up and ready to head out. She is going to drop me off at the drag races then she will go shopping at the outlets. I am not a shopper(unless it is a LGS) so this will work well for both of us. If there is any precipitation in the air they may need skis or studded tires to run.
Supposed to get up to the lower 50's mid day. I don't usually have to wear my hunting clothes to the drag races.

0725 and 28° and clear. My oldest boy is visiting from California, and we have a range day planned at the homestead.
Enjoy your day.

Re: Our mornin Coffee and Weather
So far, today is the coolest day of our fall...37*. The sky is blue and clear with a warming sun growing from the east.
Second day of deer season, and I'm certain the hunters are out in force. Good weather for the hunt.
Look to sitting on the patio this afternoon and clean both barrels (.357 Magnum & .22LR) for my new derringer. I'm hoping to get to the range this next week to shoot it for the first time.
Have a great weekend, Everybody. If you're on the hunt, be safe and enjoy!

Good morning everybody!
It's 39 degrees, the sun is shining, there's not much wind and I'm going to the range. The coffee is in the flask, the gear is waiting to be loaded into the car, and I'm using up precious range time.
I hope you all have a great day!

Good morning everyone, up early this morning, heading to Philadelphia to the Eagles-Falcons game. With the Eagles lately, you never know which team will show up. Through the years, I have learned not to get too excited about it. The Falcons are favored. I enjoy the "tailgating" as much as the game.

Re: Our mornin Coffee and Weather
A rather chilly 19* at 7:30 AM. Frost on the fields by my home looks like a light snowfall. Hopefully we will get in the 50* range today. I have a couple of rifles to shoot after church is over. Deer season is coming and I want to have a couple ready and not wait until the day before. My son-in-law just bought a new 6.5 Creedmore I am looking forward to shooting that one. Might just have to get one of those. Supposed to be very accurate. Maybe Henry should do the Long Range model in the Creedmore?

Very windy yesterday but no damage to the area that I know of. High overcast with a chance of rain today.

Good morning everybody!
After a fantastic day at the range yesterday, it's back to reality today! It's 36 degrees and raining, which isn't really unusual at this time of the year. On the plus side, the tea is made to perfection and the daily "to do" list is empty. Does it get any better?
