BB 45C Sept 24

Post by RanchRoper » Sat Sep 24, 2016 6:41 pm

3 targets. 50 yds off hand, except for 5 rounds I shot at 100 yds and only 2 hit paper. I marked those 2 on the target, then took it to the 50 yd board and cranked my last 10 rounds rapid fire on the same target. I was ticked off I wasted those rounds at 100 yds and my rapid fire after that was my best shooting of the day. Pays to get mad sometimes I guess. Great weather today and had the range to myself as usual. Fun time!

I love your range reports, RR. Thanks for the photos and for expressing your frustration. Man! Do I know what that's about?! Regardless of your own disappointment, I'd be very happy with those targets. They're twice as far as I usually shoot (and more), not to mention outdoors, but you are more accurate than I have been, given the difference in distance. Thanks.

"Fun Time" is a bullseye for me, too!

I shoot Winchester Super X cowboy action lead flat nose 250 gr.
That seems to be the best, most consistent ammo for me. I'm pretty much a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" guy.

10-4 .... agree .... I'm still looking at various loads for our Henry 44 Mag but for range use have settled on HSM Cowboy Action loads for our 45-70 .....

I really like this ammo. Recoil is not bad, and splinters fly out the backboard so I know it hits hard. I've put well over 1000 rounds of this ammo down range this summer and not 1 feed or eject problem.

Looks good to me RR. Doughtful anything would still be standing after that :D
I got frustrated too. Took my H012 to try out my new peep sight and grabbed 3 boxes of 45s, I thought 1 was 44s. The range dude found 7 and gave them to me though. That was cool and 3 full turns up on sight and was good at 25'.
Gonna try outside tomorrow w/ammo
