Loaded up 100 rounds of .45 Colt for the new Uberti/Taylor. Ohh, am liking this gun the more I just handle it. Going to try and make a desert trip over the Holiday weekend. I want to shoot, wife wants some rocks for backyard stuff. I'll drink to that. Happy Turkey Day everyone!

Loading 50 more .45 Colt using 7.2gr Universal/250gr Missouri rnfp plain bullets. Accurate and pretty pleasant to shoot from the two 1873's.
Will try and get to the desert again this weekend. Sure do like shooting those two.

Its alot of fun Tom. I like shooting steel with the muzzleloaders as much as centerfire its at a much slower pace.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
forty, I just got done reading some posts regarding using mag primers for the very same load. It is NOT recommended. The posts come from a CCI tech.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 1:40 pmThis batch would be 8-8.5 Unique with 250 gr. MB RNFP and CCI 350 Mag. primers. Seemed to work fine in my 45 ACP Unique loads.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
My time at my bench was clearing it of a lot of stuff I dug out to get ready for deer season. Getting it back in order now.

What did I do at my reloading bench today”
Why, I spilled my powder trickler full of the H4895 I drove 100 miles round trip to buy.
I got into such a hurry to clean it up I didn’t think to take a picture until it was too late. In the pic below imagine the trickler laying on it’s side towards the scale and powder everywhere.
It reminded my of those ole Crown Royal magazine ads showing a broken bottle of Crown with the caption, “ever seen a grown man cry?”.
I did manage to charge 154 .308 cases with 42 grains. Ran out of powder with 15 empties to go.

Ouch! Not good. I am talking about the Crown Royal you know!
. Kidding of course. You have any more of the 4895?

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Ouch! I do hope you recovered the spilled powder. The Lyman trickler that I use is heavily weighted at the bottom and luckily doesn't require a step up to reach over the scale and powder pan. I could be wrong, but yours seems to sit high enough that you wouldn't need to set it on that box, either.

Made a bunch of lubed wads for the cap & ball with wool felt, 1 part bees wax, 2 parts lamb tallow, punched out with a 45 colt case. About 500 for $4
