I use Rem wipes for a quick wipe down after my rifle has been in the scabbard all day, but at cleaning time I use Rem oil on a rag.

The wipes are very oily, but then my rifle goes in the sock, then in the buckskin cover. Better a little too oily for protection or storage in my opinion.

I use rem wipes often. Using the whole wipe is usually not necessary so I cut a piece off and only use a portion of the wipe. When I put my rifles into long term storage I cut a piece about the size of a patch and run it down the bore.

Just stumbled upon this thread, after the fact. I picked up a
bottle of something similar, made by Break Free. Cloth is very
oily, cloth looks like a dryer sheet, fine mesh. Haven't tried it yet.
I'll see how it goes, next cleaning session.
I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.
