About five years ago, I started looking for things that would keep my berm from eroding. Pallets and cardboard were the best things I came across. They pull triple duty by keeping the material from washing down in the rain, the weeds from growing, and providing suitable bracing for target stands.
Have you looked into landscape burlap?

The pallets and cardboard are free. I'll look into it, you don't know when the other things will become unavailable.

Both vtac barriers are together. I need to paint the raw wood, but they are good to go.
