Hunting With The Right Caliber
Hunting With The Right Caliber
Food for thought, LOL
I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Re: Hunting With The Right Caliber
Only thing about squirrel hunting with a 45/70, if you're after meat, you'll be out of luck. None left.

Grunt the bottom is to dark I can't make out heads or tails.
Head shots on the squirrels, but I got a pair of triple 4's,
so I have absolutely no use for one.

Make mine a 45-70 too. I think it is capable of head shots on squirrels. Just need to move my windage to the right and I am good to go.

Re: Hunting With The Right Caliber
Brian Pearce of "Rifle" magazine hunted in Africa with a 45-70 and did very well with it. I will look for the article, but, he shot affair amount of good sized game with it, including Zebra and I believe a Cape buffalo. I'll see if I can find it. Pretty hair raising article. Two parts.

A cape buff is no easy pickings.
