Rimfire shotshell questions

I just recently started playing with .22lr shotshells.
I bought a new Henry smooth bore garden gun.
Anyway, the ammunition packaging says,
"Warning: Range 250 yards/230 Meters

What's the effective range for a .22lr shotshell from a 16" barrel?
I know they wouldn't be effective at 250 yards, but do you think it will actually travel that far?

No way. Just sounds like CYA guidelines. Heck, even 12, 20 or 410, ( shotshells ) that is, would not be a threat at that distance.

Just a quick disclaimer: I certainly do not advocate pointing any firearm/projectile launcher toward anything I don't intend to shoot at. Even at 250 yds.

Yeah, that was my thought too.
Even if it COULD go that distance, it couldn't possibly have any energy left

Maybe, with a good tail wind. I guess I never thought about the maximum distance. I'm always concerned that they take care of these rattlesnakes at about 6' or a little more.

It might go that distance on the moon.
