Ammo Storage

Post by Sir Henry » Fri Dec 23, 2022 6:20 pm

I received my office furniture and ammo storage case right before I left for Florida. Today I filled most of the shelves. I will feed the main floor tool cabinet from here and will fill these shelves from boxed cases.

That's way too neat and tidy. Mine shares shelf space with laundry detergent and misc. stuff in the laundry room.

I still have a few boxes of stuff to unpack. It’s mostly firearms stuff like scopes that will go into the cupboards. You can see a few scopes in the above picture.

Mine's all locked up except for the black powder I keep under the wife's side of the bed. :)

I love it.

My factory ammo is shoved in a safe, my reloads are in my office.

Interesting. I have been thinking about ammo storage lately. Wondering what would happen during a fire. Would storage in a safe make much of a difference? This video shed some light on how ammo might act during a fire.

Mine are locked in a metal gun cabinet. Too much household traffic.

The majority of mine is in an old ATM safe, then there's a metal cabinet that contains mostly Shot shells and a small amount of rimfire.
Also a few military ammo boxes, near the bench.

Looks great Sir Henry, almost like shopping at the LGS except you are better stocked.

I use this old very heavy duty file cabinet that has the ability to be locked with a padlock. I haven’t used that feature as my reloading/gun/office room has a lock on the door. When the grandkids visit I make sure all guns are in the safe and then lock the door. Good kids that I don’t think would ever do something foolish but just the same…

I keep mine in my left shirt pocket like Barney Fife. It's right there in case I need it.

I love the white tow truck on top of the shelf unit. It "makes" it. Beautiful office. Mine is in progress.

Now I know why I can't find any rim fire ammo.

If you think Sir Henry has a lot of ammo check out the shelves behind Jerry Miculek.

That was very interesting and informative. My storage is much safer than I realized.
Thanks
