Henry Big Boy trigger assembly screw loose

The screw in the receiver that goes through the trigger assembly keeps backing out. I’ve never done a complete breakdown. I’ve never removed any hardware for any reason. Anyone else have this problem?

Welcome to the forum from CT. Glad you joined us.

Any rifle or handgun is subject to having its screws work loose; so a persistent loose screw on your Henry is not surprising. I've learned that it's a good idea to check that all screws on a firearm are tight before and after every trip to the range. It's especially true for Colt SAA pistols and their clones.

Many of us keep a screwdriver set in our range bag, just in case it's needed while shooting. I've had to use mine more than a few times.

An application of blue loctite should be helpful.

Welcome to the forum. I break my rifles down often and have had good luck with purple loctite. I have also used blue loctite with good results but it holds the screws a little tighter.

Thanks for the welcome. Being a new rifle I wouldn’t think it would be the persistent problem that it is. But I have added a screwdriver to my bag. And I do have some locktite. Thanks

first, welcome to our forum, delighted to have you join us .... do hope you will feel free to read and post often .... I've found with our Henry rifles that using a drop of purple Loctite on the threads of the lever screw takes care of it working loose .... be sure to follow the link below to where you may add your Henry to our community's total
