Just wondered if anyone had actually seen one of these in captivity at a store anywhere.

Not talking about review samples for gunwriters, although I'm always glad to read about those.

when I first saw a picture of their All-Weather rifle I thought the stock was synthetic .... I was surprised to learn that it is stained hardwood .... its weight is listed as the same as the standard H010 45-70

Not seen the all-weather .45-70 on display yet...might look tomorrow on my trek to cabelas. This store has really been building up their Henry rifles. As JEBar mentioned, I'd like to see that stained hardwood stock, too.

But not to worry. It will show up, "come rain or shine!!"

I like the looks of them. I have only seen the all-weather 30-30. Heck everyone needs two 45-70 Henry rifles right? Maybe I should pick one up soon.

My Cabels's didn't have one today and didn't think they had yet gotten one in.

I haven't seen one yet either. With the expansion of Henry models, I have noticed that most stores seem to be sticking the main "established" rifles, but I see very few, if any, of the newer ones.

I've only seen photos. Sure has a unique look.

That is common unless people are asking for it.

I have to be honest here; I'm really kinda jonesing for one of these!

But a less-than-great experience with a Henry 30-30 a couple of years ago has me a bit spooked, and I'd really like to see and hold one before ordering blind. Plus I'm not sure that being among the first to step up is a good idea or not.

Can't speak for the 30-30 but my 45 Colt Big Boy is awesome! First gun, first experience and I can't put it down! Good luck.

It's a long story but in Dec. of 2014 I bought a new Henry .30-30 that had the lever pop-open issue. After loading 3 or more rounds the lever would pop open and could not then be closed. You had to dump the rounds out of the tube, but the last round wouldn't come out and had to be cycled out leaving the brass dented. After doing some research I discovered this was a common and well known problem, but Henry CS denied that they had ever heard of it being an issue. They offered to fix it if I sent it in, but honestly I began to wonder how 4 different people had signed off on the inspection and nobody noticed this? Also, I got to wondering how this could have been going on for so long without the factory addressing the issue. I developed a low threshold of hope it would ever be satisfactory. So, I returned it to the dealer who graciously took it back.

It kinda put me off Henrys until I read somewhere online where a fellow named Dan admitted it was a problem and outlined how they fixed it. He was the first Henry employee to ever actually acknowledge the problem and I was impressed to say the least. Subsequent email communication with Dan has restored my faith in Henry and I think I'm ready to jump back in. I don't know where he's located but it isn't with the regular Henry CS dept. and he's not reachable by phone, but what a great guy! He exemplifies what I have always heard Henry CS is supposed to be all about, and I don't get the impression this is even his job.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if he wasn't our fellow forum member and official Henry liaison, DanAtHenry.

I would find that even more comforting if true!

From emailing with him it's evident that he's the kind of fellow that will not let any question go unanswered nor any problem go unresolved.

I had the very same "long story" with my Henry .30-30. Bought mine in April 2014, and worked with Henry for two months, two free repairs (and no shipping charge either way), and a final phone call with a shop supervisor. He told me that the Henry worked fine, but a person had to angle the rifle when loading cartridges, and "wiggle the rifle while loading so the bullets would be more aligned in the magazine."

Problem was not resolved for me with the rifle, so Henry fully refunded my purchase price in June 2014. I've since heard that this lever-popping-open-issue has been resolved for the .30-30 model. Although I was disappointed in not having a .30-30 a couple of years ago, the Henry CS was excellent. I stuck with them, and have been fine with any other rifles from the company.

From what I'm hearing Henrys are working pretty well now & very accurate.

Dan from Henry is who I contacted first about my 45-70. He was very helpful, and Henry got my rifle fixed. I also understood about keeping the lever closed during loading and twisting the brass rod back and forth to help seat the rounds. The lever would pop open when handling the rifle, so after reasearching the issue I saw a reply from Dan on a review of the 45-70 and 30-30. I reached out to him and he helped me get my rifle taken care of.

My new 30-30 works just fine. To keep this thread on topic I just might have to buy the all weather 45-70, I don't need another Henry 45-70 but, my son needs one for this deer season too right? Plus with two sons, when I die they both get one

I bet the Dan At Henry on this forum is the same guy. With people like him working at Henry life is good.
