I went to walmart today and to the sporting goods dept. I saw a lone Henry [H006M} in the case. So I asked the lady if I could look at the rifle she commented 38 special and I noticed that the price tag was missing. While the lady handed me the rifle she found the tag behind the rifle the price was 499.99. I asked her if it was for this rifle ans she checked and said yes! Now I have been looking for a 357 mag rifle for a while [ Marlin, Uberti, Winchester, Rossi, Henry]. When she said yes I told her to write it up handed her my DL and Cpl. About 30 minutes later I was being walked out to my Jeep and she was caring my rifle and I didn't. I got home and cleaned the rifle up and at 25 yards with 38 special 125hp after I figured out that they were shooting high I couldn't miss. I shot the 357 mag 158JSP and couldn't miss right from the get go the plastic cat treat container did't stand a chance with the 357 mag. I had to go down and re-set it with the 357 Mag it went up in the air and over the mound of dirt that I use for a back stop. Not bad for off hand shooting and open sights I'm still grinning!!

Yes you must be! Quick look online, best price I could find was $696. You got a heck of a deal and had a blast with that cat container. I'm grinning just thinking about it all. Congrats!

The money I saved bought 100 of 125hp 38 Specials and 50 of 158JSP in 357 mag. From the reaction I'm seeing from the 158 JSP in 357 mag they will do a job on deer under 100 yards.

Congrats on the deal of the year, I'd say! Keep us posted on how it treats you as you get used to it; sounds like you're off to a running start. And post a pic or two. We like pics here!

I was worried that the rifle wouldn't cycle 38 special and the owners manual said basically nothing under 158 gr to cycle reliably. I did run 38 special in 125 gr hp through the rifle 20 times without and problems. Now to start looking into basic reloading progressive press. Old guy no cell phone or camera and the kids are moved out no pictures.

Good buy, Dad -- very good price you got on it. Glad you brought that "lone Henry H006M" home with you. That was the model of the first Big Boy I ever had, and it's a great .357 Magnum rifle.

suggest you consider using 357 brass for you 38 loads .... the shorter 38 case allows for a ring to build up which can later make it difficult to insert a 357 round

Congratulations on your new Henry, dad. You absolutely received an incredible deal! If your rifle is anything like mine, it will cycle a wide range of cartridge lengths.

Christmas came early at your house that is a steal of a deal if you ask me. Nice job. 357 leverguns are just plain fun.

Very lucky find at that price. Did you also buy a lottery ticket?

Just chiming in to say congratulations along with all the other folks. A man sure appreciates a good deal once in a while and sounds like you got a great one. I've never shot the .357 through a long gun but I can imagine it would sure be sweet. Could go through my ammo budget pretty quick if I had one , fun shooting and easy on the shoulder can imagine. Enjoy your rifle , sir.

Congrats on your new Henry! That was an outstanding bargain price! I paid $710.00 from Gunbroker plus a $30.00 transfer fee at my LGS. I had to adjust the sights on mine. It was shooting high and about 6" to the left at 25yards. After adjusting the sights it is dead on! More accurate that the shooter (me)! Hope you enjoy your new rifle. I have a Big Boy Steel Carbine 357 on my wishlist.
