Good morning to all,
I had read that Henry was going to start distributing the LongRanger with iron sights by May 2017. I have searched the world over and have yet to see one available in any of the three calibers. Has anyone seen these unicorns yet and if so, where?

The Henry web site says the Long Ranger rifles are "Shipping Now." https://www.henryusa.com/rifles/the-long-ranger/

3 unicorns spotted at the KCKS Cabelas store a couple of weeks ago. They had one of each caliber displayed in their rifle racks. This store has really latched on to how popular Henrys are, and have been keeping a good number of Henrys in stock.

These were sure beautiful Henrys to behold....they carry very sharp-looking wood!

as noted, if you have one near you, Cabela's is a good source .... if there is one near you, check out this link === http://www.cabelas.com/product/HENRY-LO ... g%2Branger ... the one shown in this link doesn't show iron sights, you'd probably have to check to ensure that can be ordered

The original Long Rangers are readily available now. The iron sights models won't be out until late in May.

I'd heard that somewhere but wasn't sure about it

Thank you for the info. I thought it was this month. I already have a beautiful .308 with a Leupold straddling it but am hoping to find an iron-sighted model for my Dad as a gift. Cabelas does seem the one place that has the LongRanger in stock regularly so I will be making a few road trips next month.

Was in the Fort Mill Cabelas today and they had a used 308 Long Ranger. Have been considering one. But, after handling that one, I think a shorter barrel would be better. it had a 21" barrel. Guess it might not be quite the Long Ranger with a shorter barrel.

I picked mine up on April 4th. I ordered it from a small local gun shop in town. I asked him when he would be getting the Long Ranger in stock. He called his distributor and ordered one "right now" It took about a week for him to get it and then the Calif. 10 day waiting period. I was planning on scoping it anyway and did'nt specify with or without sights figuring the sighted models were not yet available and was surprised that I got one with sights. The serial number was #10 so I assume that they had just started sending them out to the general public about that time. none of the big stores around here have them yet(sportsmans warehouse or Dicks). I put a Redfield wide angle 3x9 low profile scope on it and did not have to remove the rear sight unlike the frontier model 22 mag that I also ordered.Great gun, now I need to go shoot it before Deer season.

Great! Sounds like they are starting to ship. I will keep my fingers crossed.
