Okay folks, are any of y'all buying Long Ranger rifles yet? I'm anxious to read some reviews and range reports.

This IS, after all, the Henry Forum. It seems reasonable to expect members to be buying Henry rifles.

We thought that those that brought this forum into being would show the rest of us the way by getting any of the new H.R.A. rifles as they come to be available .

I think people are slackin' here.

I've got two of them. One in 308, the other in 223. Haven't had much of a chance to shoot them, other than function testing, due to weather. The range I use has been inaccessible, first due to snow, then due to some flooding, since mid-December.

The 308 on top has a 4-12x40 Nikon P308 scope. The 223 has a Vortex 3-9x40 Crossfire II.
Just noticed today when taking these pictures that the 308 doesn't have any markings on the barrel.

first, welcome to our community, happy to have you with us .... the Long Ranger is a fairly new addition to the Henry line and many of us are really looking forward to hearing range reports

Those are most excellent looking rifles . The craftsmanship and the attention to detail is outstandingly evident in both of them. Thanks for posting and I am sure we are all looking forward to a range report.

Seems longer than that.

I picked on up a week ago. It is shooting 165 grain ballistic tips and 175 grain ELDX bullets around an inch. Trigger is excellent. Fit and Finish is excellent. I'm very happy with it so far and expect to improve accuracy with some more reloading work. Not that 1" groups need to be improved on. This is my second Henry, Got the 45/70 about 6 months ago and accuracy with it has been excellent as well.

Yes waiting some more accuracy repots before plunking down the Money for a 308LR

Really starting to like mine. It is really tightening up after the first 50 rounds. Using 178 grain Hornady ELDX bullets. Is everyone else carefully using a cleaning rod from the muzzle end or using a bore snake? I'm using a rod and trying to be very careful with the crown. Gonna try 150 grain partitions and ballistic tips as well.

Still haven't had a chance to get out to the range with mine yet. I'll have some time tomorrow and the weather forecast looks promising as of right now. Will definitely let you know when I get a range report up.
