I saw in one of the write ups on the new H.R.A. models that they will be making a .327 Lever action rifle. This is indeed news of importance.

A buddy of mine will be in line to buy one.

I also saw this on another forum where a poster had this confirmed by Anthony. Should be a good seller I see aot of people wanting this caliber in a levergun. Al

Lipsey's is listing Henrys Big Boys in 327 Federal with 16.5 and 20 inch barrels. Steel and brass.

I noticed that not only did they mention that the rifles were not in stock but that they had a "half cock safety" That's a new one on me for H.R.A. rifles that use a transfer bar .

Now, this Henry thing is getting interesting. Love the 327 and that rifle would go well with one of my favorite single action, a Ruger Single Seven in 327.

Just over 3 years ago, I contacted every last lever gun manufacturer I could think of, requesting this firearm.
I've been a big fan of the .327fed/mag since it first came to my attention.
I own, and carry on occasion, a Taurus 2" barrel 6-shot snubby .327, and just recently picked up a Ruger SP101 in .327. It has a 4.2" barrel and 6 shots.

I emailed, snail-mailed, and called several companies, including Henry.
The last time I contacted Henry was about 2 years ago. Shortly after emailing them, I received a response from Henry. They were the only company to respond to any of my communications.
At the time, Henry's response was, "we have no plans to produce such a rifle at this time."

Discouraged, I went looking for a host rifle to have re-chambered.
That did not go far. Most all of the potential host rifles were out of my budget even before having any modifications done.

I had more or less resigned myself to the fact that I was never going to get my hands on a .327fed/mag lever gun.

Fast-forward to last week.
I received an email from Henry announcing the release of their new carbine.
I've been on cloud 9 since.

I emailed Mr Anthony Imperata to thank him for producing this rifle.
I received a reply in less than 48 hours. He thanked me for my interest, my patronage, and told me I was ,"very welcome".

I plan to get my grubby little hands on one of the carbines as soon as possible.

My money is on March 3rd. I don't know why. I just have a feeling.

I wrote Mr. Imperato an e-mail about a big boy in 327 fed right after I purchased my Sp101 4.2". It has become my go to cartridge for 75% of my hunting and plinking. Low and behold, he built four different models. I plan to buy a steel carbine and a rifle as soon as they become available. I need both to go with the seven revolvers in 32 H&R and .327 Fed that I have.

I've emailed Henry as well, asking about ship dates.
I asked if I could get a more precise ship date than "March 2017".
I've yet to hear back.

Visited my local gun shop today.
Handed my friendly neighborhood dealer a $500 deposit and told him what I was looking for, and told him the M.S.R.P. was $850 and he told me my price would be $647!
More than $200 off of retail!

Did I mention, I have a friend in the gun business?

Im waiting on March to. Im wanting the Big Boy Brass in 41 mag carbine. One thing I have done is keep checkin GB sometimes you will see them there before it actually reachs some distributors. Kind of gives an guy an idea when there are shipping. Al

My dealer has contacts at both Lipsey's and Davison's Gallery of Guns. I'm hoping, being two of the largest distributors, they will get their shipments first.

I got an email today from Dan, at Henry customer service.
He said they expect to start shipping the Big Boy steel in .327fed/mag in mid-March.

I feel like a kid in a candy store waiting on the clerk...
