Thought I was dreaming today
Thought I was dreaming today
I was in one of the big box stores and saw a H009 BB Steal with out loading gate! Over the course of two weeks they are in all the stores in my area! I looked new and I was told they were new. Nice price on them also 779.00! The manager thought they made a deal with Henry for special run. I'm really thinking about get one. This might be the case of asking for forgiveness instead of permission! Anyone else seen them in your area?

With hunting season either started or just about to in most states, the buyers are making sure the shelves are filled with options for prospective purchasers.
Oh, and buy the rifle, it'll all turn out OK.

I haven't seen any version of the BB's here in a long while. There are a few .22LR around. That price is what they were going for back around 2018 when I bought mine. Henry hasn't had the non-gate version on their website for some time. Maybe they are a special run or maybe old inventory. Either way it's been a good rifle (I have one in brass) and at that price a good buy. So go buy one.popdad wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 10:28 pmI was in one of the big box stores and saw a H009 BB Steal with out loading gate! There was one for sale over around BigAl a few weeks ago.
Don't know if it's still available.
You might PM him.

When I asked about other 357,44mag ,I was told that they only carried that one. They did have a 360 buckhammer side gate for 835. 00. Both were very well made
Re: Thought I was dreaming today
Going back a few decades for this story. My parents have a place in PA that was a second home for years. My dad lives there full time now. On some visits for a weekend, I'd occasionally take rides to some local gun shops to see what they had. With this being north-east PA, there were always a ton of leverguns on the used racks. At that time, I was more of a target shooter, and in NJ, we couldn't hunt with a rifle, so none of the levers interested me. (wish I paid more attention to them now)
So this one shop had 6 heavy barrel .22 bolt guns with aperture sights on the rack. I asked about them and the guy handed me one. They were brand new, unfired, Mossberg .22 target rifles. Still had the stickers on the barrels and the stocks. He said that a local summer camp bought them for use by the campers, but that the program never really got going. They sat in the boxes unused for years and years until the camp went out of business. He was asking $150 each. I didn't buy one, but went back two or three weeks later to get one, and they were gone.
When you see something that is an "always wanted one of those", or a really low price, just buy it. You'll almost never lose money on it, and it adds another neat chapter to your story.
