My Henry X 45 Colt arrived today !

Finally made it from the far western part of Va. and lucky it did in a UPS shipping box but being shipped by FedEx!!! :o

Anyway I checked it for loading and cycling some dummy 45 Colt rounds and then test fired an empty case with a primer to check the firing pin action.
First thing was to see if my Banish 45 can would screw on the barrel. It did but it bottoms out on the threads and not the shoulder of barrel cut and a spacer will be needed which I can make. Then moved on to removing the black polymer stock and putting on the good ol Henry wood. Only trick to that was getting the mag tube dovetail retainer bracket to get started in the barrel while on the tube....tricky but got it.

The wood fits good and tight and looks right. The sights on the X models are really nice and was great to see the front sight bead sits right on top of the Banish suppressor! In pic you can see the green dot showing.
Have to machine up a .080 thick steel spacer to make sure the suppressor tightens up square and will do that tomorrow.
A range test soon!

Nice,
Love the wood on it. Doesn't your suppressor need a crush washer. Just wondering because where I live really never needed a suppressor. So just really asking if that would work or is a crush washer the proper washer ?

You know? The wood makes it look like a rifle, not a “weapon of war”. Well done. I know you’re going to love it

Looks like Henry just cut and threaded the barrel a bit more than needed for my particular suppressor. You want a solid spacer so it will tighten up square against the shoulder. My other two guns are fine.

You can also go to a 45 caliber mount.

I am using a Griffin armament 5/8x24 45 cal adapter.
https://www.griffinarmament.com/taper-m ... uppressor/

Griffin has a mount that goes in their cans, it is a 1.375x24 threaded rear. If your banish has the same 1.375x24 you should be able to get a griffin plan A taper mount

Griffin's plan A taper mount
https://www.griffinarmament.com/plan-a- ... ppressors/

Their mount for other can makers
https://www.griffinarmament.com/plan-a- ... ppressors/
https://www.griffinarmament.com/plan-a- ... ppressors/
https://www.griffinarmament.com/plan-a- ... and-ghost/

A mount helps with carbon lock, and helps make sure you mount the can the same way every time.

I have Sico trI-lug mounts on my 38/357 and 45 colt. I use a similar converter and tri lug mount for my form 1 can. While the tri lug mount mounts up solid, I don't think it is the best thing to do for the rifles. Hence why I decided to pick up a dedicated can, and mount system.

Since both the 38/357 big boy x and 45 colt are threads 5/8x24 i went ahead and picked up two of the plan A mounts when purchasing the Bushwacker 46.

I am glad to see that my measurements were correct and the sites would peek over the banish can.

About 145-150 for the stock and front grip plus the front grip band/retainer. You can find it listed on the Henry store site.
The fit was nice on my 45 X Model.

I paid $161.67 delivered to my door.

I know it seems kinda steep but the quality of the Walnut and the very impressive fit and finish make it well worth it to me.

The checkering is cut, not stamped. With the wood installed the rifle is just gorgeous.

Don't forget to order the handguard cap with your stock kit.

Thanks Tom! I'm keeping it always ready for silent running....sitting in it's spot loaded with 250 gr. XTP's. My other Henry 45 CCH carbine will be for other more powerful 45 Colt uses.
