I have a Big Boy .44 Magnum rifle with brass receiver. Somehow, I acquired a light scratch on the receiver. Is there any way to buff out light scratches? Thank you.

first of all, welcome to the forum .... sure hate to hear about the scratch .... when we ordered our Henry 44 we chose to go with the BBS out of the sure and certain knowledge that over time ours would earn any numbers of bumps and scratches .... hopefully some of our members who have experience with the brass receivers will be able to offer suggestions

Welcome to the forum MDG. This is a very friendly group of folks with lots of experience.

I've found that Flitz (also recommended by HRAC) is an excellent brass polish that should do the job, though depending on the depth, it may take a few attempts. I use it regularly to remove tarnish and light scratches from my Big Boy. Just be careful with it. It will take the bluing off of the screws, so apply it with a Q-tip or something similar to avoid that.

Thanks CT. I am enjoying it. I have machine guns, AR's, AK's and many other types but my Henry is in my top 3.

Sorry about your Henry scratch, I have the brass BB too and I'm starting to not worry so much about the character lines. It's tough but I am starting to USE my rifle and really enjoying it. When I finally cash in my chips, I want someone to say "now that was a cowboy rifle".

I wish mine would hurry up and get dull yellow. I gave up braso when I got out of the Marines

It's called a "like" button. If you click on one in a post, it will turn white on your screen, meaning you liked the post and it's counted among others who liked it. If you click on a white heart in a post (one you've already liked), it will remove the "like". Some members use the like "button" or 'heart" when they don't have a comment to leave, but do support the post.

Click the heart to tell the writer you like what he/she just said in the thread. It will send them a "notification" of that (see upper right of screen next to "private messages.")
