I really like that rifle in the carbine. Large loop 16.5 in barrel length, but no 30-30. Is my only draw back in buying one.

.357 magnum. My magnum loads in 158gr 357 are pushing 30-30 territory at 2,000+ fps. Another alternative is the .327 Fed Mag. It’s a lighter, flatter shooting bullet from the 20” Henry. I’ve got some 100gr 327 mag HPs pushing just under 1,700 fps. I think the 327 carbine is H012MR327.

we have had and hunted with a Winchester Model 94 for decades ... its blemishes are well earned .... out to 100 yards, with open sights, I have complete confidence in it .... we've not had our Henry 357 for anywhere near as long .... based on its performance and taking deer for 30+ years with 357 revolvers, I have no reservations about hunting with it out to the same 100 yards ....

I don't hand load, so factory cartridges for me. If they change the rifle & limited rifle shot gun zone in Michigan I would buy one. I don't know which one the 357 mag or the 44 mag either would work.

we have both and wouldn't part with either or them .... that said, if limited to just one, I'd go with the 44 .... there is nothing the 357 can do that the 44 can't do a little bit better

That's why I am holding out for one in 30-30. If they change the zone I will be more than happy to buy one in 44 mag or maybe 357. If I can't make up my mind I might buy both! I will put a William's receiver sight on. I will get it d&t for 94se. Then sight in and go forth to the woods and find deer still in their tracks!
