I'm with you there. It would be a nice companion to my Ruger American Ranch rifle.

What type of optic/mount combo are you considering?

I finally found the load that works in mine, hornady 165 gr btsp Winchester brass, cci 200 primer and 45 gr of varget. Best 5 shot group is .930. With a clean barrel it starts out at 2 inches after about 10 shots it really tightens up.

I saw one at Cabela's yesterday. My honest first impressions on seeing one in person? It looked:
1. Short
2. Plain
To be fair, I didn't ask to handle it, as the sales people were very busy. It did look well-made, as I would expect from a Henry rifle. Would I buy one? Yes, I could see owning one.

Price at Cabela's is a bit high, too. I suspect, though, that when other stores get them, they'll cost less.

Seems like Cabelas got the first run. I don't live anywhere near one though.

I go right past the one in Hamburg, Pa. about once a month. I have dropped a lot of money there in the past and I like to eat at their deli and look at all their mounts and wildlife displays. Next time I might just stop on the way back and see what one of those new Henry's look like. But, I am not going to buy one.
