Bullet weight for Henry 243?

Closer to pulling the trigger on the Henry 243 youth, my brother has once fired brass and I can get 100 gr Sierra bullets in a horse trade. Does the 1:10 twist work well with the 100s ?

Ive only shot the 70 and the 95 grain Nosler Ballistic tips. If you can get a hold of them they will put a smile on your face. Not saying the 100's wont work just have had good luck with those. IMR 4350 will be your friend in that caliber if you have any. H-380 works well also.

The Lyman Manual 49, shows 34.5 grains (max) of Varget was the most accurate load with the 100 grain (Hornady) bullet and they used a 1:10 twist uni receiver. But as previously said, IMR 4350 is a good match for the 100 grain as well.

I've been shooting my .243 Long Ranger with Sierra's 85 grain HPBT using RL15 with great groups. Shorter bullet but not by much.

The beauty is that you can make up a load to optimize whichever bullet you can get your hands on. Good luck.
