I am new to the group also and I just purchased an inexpensive bag from Academy which was too long so I just folded the small end over and secured it with rubber bands, works well until I find the correct length for My beloved H012MCC

rteal, Welcome to the HRF.
This was mentioned earlier in this thread, and it really is a good option. Other than the orange Henry case, they have a new design in green. It had been sold out, but I see it is back in stock. Also it's less expensive. See the link after this quote.
If you want to go more outside of the box, check this thread link. Although titled by Ranch Roper as "Pistol covers," it came around to some options for rifle covers, too. I liked what I found on this site, and got a pistol cover for my Trapper. I can vouch that they make high-quality stuff.

It says on the October Country site that they will discuss with you about making a custom-fit case. If I had a long gun I'd definitely get one of the woven rug cases for mine.

https://henrypride.com/collections/acce ... 4058470425I have two of the orange soft cases that Henry sells. They are simple and function well and fit all my Henry's, with or without scopes.

I have one of those Orange Henry cases also. Works great for all the Henrys. But I might look into getting a couple of the green ones as well. I could use another case or 2. Welcome to the forum glad you joined us.

Appears Walmart has the Canyon leather one.

The Plano closest to the one I have feature-wise is this one in 42 inch for $119

The one I actually have is available through an Amazon 3rd party seller at a gouge price of $156

Re: Another dumb newbie question!
I have a HD cotton aka canvas case from Midway. They have two, one is waxed and the other is not. I have the on that is not waxed. It has a 40" inside length so my H010 45-70 fits perfectly. Very soft HD flannel type interior. Works with or without a scope.

Re: Another dumb newbie question!
I have three hard cases but sometimes use a spare guitar bag. Seems to work as good as any. No one at the range has snickered yet.
