It is a real nice rifle. Best of luck. Maybe contact some cowboy action shooter clubs or SASS and ask around.

I think that note above came about after he got a response from Navy Arms; he was going to check with HRA (I thought), just in case...

No I never got any replies at all. The only reply I got from all the research was from Navy Arms facebook who only said they have no information and they were not the same company as the 1960's Navy Arms. that was it. But they did have a big picture of Val Forgett III pumping sales of new Navy Arms guns with the founder of Uberti. AS is with 99% of companies if there is no money in it or if they are too short sided to see the dollar return then they just don't care

I have found pictures or post on various forums and found 4 of these rifles. I learned that the number on the barrel is indeed the serial number but don't know how many where made or when it was made . It was thought that the number was a part number or at least that is what the other folks that had one believed but the numbers are different on the exact same gun and all of them under the 1000 mark.

I will not sell it to someone who does not appreciate what it is or at least understand what it is so I might just end up keeping it. I posted it on Cast Boolits site and the Lever Scoundrels site with zero interest and I had it listed as best offer ,not like I was asking crazy money . It in such nice shape for a 50 year old rifle I am reluctant to take it out and shoot it, Im not sure why

thanks all for your help again I appreciate it

Shoot it! After sending lead through it I doubt you will want to part with it.

Ya gotta go shoot it. Once you do the reluctance will pass.

I don't see that this example has been cited in this thread. It may or may not help, but thought I'd pass it along:

Thought they manufactured?
They did - early on then Val Forgett established the first Italian Manufacturers of repros.

Yea spend a little time surfing the web about Navy & Val Forgett - interesting reading!
I have a muzzleloader manual from the 1970's that has a pretty good story about him and several pictures.
