I bought this cabinet about three years ago and it fits my needs perfect. These are all .22LR rifles and the ones I shoot the most. I store some ammo on the shelf as decoration. The cabinet was made in America and is of excellent quality. It is made of both solid wood and particleboard. I did a fingernail scratch test and could not make a mark although I thought it was close.

The one thing I don’t like about it is the fluorescent light. Tungsten would have been a much better choice.

While it is beautiful to look at it offers little security. One good pull on the locked door and it is open. I have other security that you need to get through to get to it.

As a comparison this cabinet from the 50’s(?) was more labor intensive and more elaborate in design. It is illuminated by a tungsten tube light.

Inside are active .17HMR and .22WMR shooters. This cabinet stores seldom shot rifles and shotguns. The light in it is broken so I put a piano light on top. The glass is etched while the Henry glass is printed.

all of them really look good to me .... you are indeed fortunate to live in a setting where they may be used

Very nice cabinetry. Always have appreciated those over some big black iron box (or burying guns in the backyard ). Nice things should be kept where they can be admired. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. These cabinets are more secure but not as great to look at in comparison.

I have the exact same cabinet as the double door one. Same etched pattern on the glass with all the same hardware on the doors and the storage below the doors. Same double drawers. Bought mine from a lady in Maryland.

It is my favorite as far as functions go. When do you think yours was made.

I bought it used in the late '80's and have no idea of the build date for it. I know it is built pretty nice and has held up well but I no longer use it for my guns now I have two safes. I have been thinking of converting it to a die cast car cabinet for my die cast muscle cars. I put it up for sale once and a real generous guy offered me a $100. I just smiled and walked away. I would put hooks in it and hang my hunting clothes in before I would sell a cabinet that nice for a $100.

You couldn't even buy the hardware for a cabinet like that for $100. Similar ones today go for a minimum of $2000 and up if they are well made and not some chinese junk.

I paid $80 for mine and he delivered it for an extra $20. I was driving my Outback and was 150 miles away from home. Benefits of living in an anti-gun state. He hated it and wanted it out of his antique store.

He had a major delivery about five miles away and that’s why low delivery.

I think the gun cabinets ARE beautiful, but I could never put the guns on display. I have my gunsafe (main) on view, sorta. It's in the laundry room. Mainly because the movers said, "That's as far as we are moving that heavy @!%#$."

The other safe(s) aren't readily visible, even walking thru the rooms they sre almost in. Paranoid? "The way I hear it, you aren't paranoid, when they really ARE out to get you."

I remember growing up, most pickups in town had a rifle or shotgun in a rack in the back window, and would be parked in town with the Windows Down. No worries... Kids knew better and adults respected one anothers property.

You have to know where the Claymore mines are. Seriously I have other security which I won’t go into.
