Stair Baluster cane.

A while back a old home new us was being taken down.There were a couple of baluster in the trash pile. I am going to make a cane out of each this is the first one. I have not identified the wood but it is carving well. I will add a walnut handle.sand and give it a spar urethane finish.

You are very good at carving. Great looking cane. Carving is something I've never been good at, I guess my mind just doesn't work that way.

Love it. I've made a few canes using my spokeshaves, wanted to carve designs in the shafts, but... Too much time spent making the canes to risk it. Excellent job.
