Given the time, I like to walk out back withe the recurve and throw a few arrows down range shooting instinctive.

I think any kind of shooting you do adds to your over all proficiency.

I have been a hunter with longbow for many years, and have taken lots of animals over the years. I haven’t killed any big game with a rifle for a lot of years, but I might hunt elk with a rifle this year.

I always wanted to try longbows, and by the time I had gotten to a point in my life where I could afford the time and to add another hobby, I had undergone bilateral shoulder surgeries. I admire those of you who hunt with them though. A friend hunts with both a recurve and a compound. He is very accurate with either.

Had a 50# Bear recurve when I was in high school. We used to hunt rabbits with them. My Buddy back then could hit a rabbit on the run! I kid you not. He was a lot better than me.
Probably could, but, don't think I want to string a recurve any more.

I don't think this guy would have any problem hitting a running rabbit.
