Guns and Jeeps have gone together since 1941 so there has to be some Jeep owners here other than myself and BigAl. Here's my '14 and no it isn't a mall crawler. It's been everywhere from the Carolinas to Moab Utah and we still have a lot of years and miles to do together. This is likely the most sensible and usable vehicle I've ever owned and by far the most fun.

If... if we add a third vehicle later, I hope to find a decent used jeep, 4wd of course, and do the necessary restoration work myself. Then paint it in Marine deployment livery. Always wanted a jeep, always had to have trucks.

Very nice OS! Almost bought a Rubicon several years back but can't remember...do they come stock with the straight axel?
Looks like that's what you have on there. I know they have a great crawl ratio amongst other great things but forgot that part of the research I did at the time.

The JKUR comes with Dana 44 axles both front and rear with electric lockers and a 4 to 1 reduction transfer case among other upgrades. All other models have a 30 front axle, a lighter 44 rear axle and a transfer case with much less reduction. Ordered mine as close to the way I wanted it as I could get then replaced all the suspension with AEV parts and replaced bumpers, sliders, tires, wheels, and so on and so on. Hacked the can bus to add about 10% more horsepower and ran a bunch of wiring to upgrade and bypass certain systems. Altered many other things to make it mine also. It's all part of being a Jeeper. Jeep advertised a saying sometime back "It's a Jeep thing you wouldn't understand." I own one and I don't understand either but I truly have enjoyed this thing more than anything else I've ever owned and I've owned some wild stuff. One other thing I added as I have with many other vehicles I've had was the decals on the side. I figure if he's riding with me, he's not looking for me.

my first vehicle was a '65 CJ5 and my longest kept vehicle was a J10 (24 years) .... I'm really enjoying the Jeep pictures posted in this thread .... sadly, we don't have any digital pictures of them .... other Jeeps I've owned include a early 50's Willis, a '69 Wagoneer, a '70 Jeepster, and a '75 Cherokee Chief

Not a Jeep but a cousin. Just sold my little Samurai. It was nice for puttering on the farm

There's quite a following with the little ' Sami's '. At least there was several years ago when I belonged to a Toyota off road club.

My first Jeep was a 1953 CJ3B I restored long ago.
It is now owned by a friends' son in Eastern Oregon.

As an example of why people like Jeeps, the pic below is of my dad's Jeepster he bought soon after returning from Germany at the end of WWII. Dad took the pic and that's mom with the Jeep.

Just for the sake of posting off-road pics this is one of my son in his Ultra4 buggy cresting a 30' vertical rock wall. This thing was 800 horse rear engine, all hand built insanity. You see, we are truly an off-road family and we all love our guns.

My jeep. Nothin special 2010 wrangler 2 door sport that I dearly luv even though it eats oil. My other loved 4x4 is a 1990 3/4 ton 2 door Dodge Cummins diesel now a resto project. Bought it when I had cattle. Both are manuals.

Very first vehicle I ever drove that was not a farm tractor was my grandfathers mid 50s cj5. I was 10. Took a long time to get back to jeep but I'm there.

I used to have a Suzuki Samurai and I still regret I sold it.
I have made some nice trips with this mini-jeep.

I also had a '53 CJ3B. That was back in the mid 70's and it was my only rig. It did have a heater, not sure if it was oem or put in by a previous owner, no defroster though. only other mods other than a engine rebuild were bigger brakes and a electric wiper on the drivers side.

Did you have to hold the shifter to keep it from popping out of 2nd gear? Local jeep mechanic told me it could be fixed but would start popping out again in a couple of thousand miles so I just learned to live with it.

I do not recall this ever being a problem.
It's been a while myself but I would have remembered this.
Mine was pretty tight and ran well.
