Sold my Baby

Post by markiver54 » Fri Oct 16, 2020 9:38 pm

Came down from the mountain cabin yesterday to meet with a fellow coming from TN.
He came today and bought my one owner `99 Ford Lightning. I'm a bit bummed tonite that she's gone. Sad, because I've owned her since new. Only 30K miles and showroom shape....oh well...time to move on.

Good luck with the Toyota 4 Runner search. They hold there value and are pricey. Ive looked at them myself and would love to have one. Gonna just pass for now.

I think the Toyota will be a much better vehicle. You did the right thing.

Looked at a very clean low mileage 2016 ( 52k ) 4-Runner yesterday for $ 32K. Gonna go look at it again tomorrow. Ya never know. Looks like a pretty fair deal to me though. Wife aint too sure.๐Ÿ˜ my money though! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thanks Al, will be doing that. At this point , I'm looking for a vehicle that may last me the rest of my days. Toyota 4-Runners if kept up, are capable of that.
I drive on average, less than 5000 miles a year, so I think this may be my last purchase if all goes well.
Am optimistic, but gonna be careful.

Well, I found just what I wanted. 2016 and only 32K miles on it. Got a good deal....I'm happy now and thinking less about the Lightning.๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜

Well...I was going to sell my 3rd Generation '98 4-Runner after buying my new one. Don't have to though, so decided to keep it.
Now I have a 3rd AND a 5th Gen.
I love the 98, but it was getting up there in miles. Since this pic, I just put on some Faulken Wildpeak A/T tires. Also, just took it to the body shop this morning to have the roof and hood re-painted. All the clear coat was coming off and don't want any rust to start. It will be our " Go to the Cabin/mountain " vehicle.

Sharp looking vehicle and should give you a lot of trouble free miles. That looks close to the same color as my '03 Tundra. I like your new ride a lot.
