that looks very much like a lake in the Medicine Bow National Park in the Snowy Mountain Range west of Laramie, WY

Lake McDonald.

Sorry, that's not it. This lake is much less busy than McDonald. Even though there were a few other people there, I didn't want to leave the solitude.

How big is the lake?

Maybe 1/3 to half the size of McDonald.
