without a doubt the finest automobile related museum that we have ever visited is the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum located at 1600 Wayne St, Auburn, IN 46706-3509 ===> http://www.automobilemuseum.org/#home.html .... of the many, many we have visited across the country, there are only a handful of museums I would drive out of my way to get to .... the Auburn Cord Museum is at the top of the list .... the pictures below are a very small sample of what they have on display with info on each

it is truly outstanding .... the Duesenberg shown with the etched glass vent windows belonged to Frank Lloyd Wright .... as also shown, they also have a complete section dedicated to other classic/historic vehicles

Amazing, heard about it, but not been there. A friend's family had an Austin and I he took it there and sold it after his father passed.
It's been years, but another cool museum is in Cleveland. The Crawford Auto and Aviation Museum.

They have a P51 Mustang and many war birds, lots of cars and they had a HUGE steam locomotive, not sure if that's still there.
Worth the trip to Cleve Lots of good food and beverages too

Wow! Those cars are outstanding. I wonder how much it would cost today to produce works of art like that? I think I know the answer to that one already!

IIRC, we worked on an Avanti in the body shop I worked in during the summers when I was in college back in the early 70s. I remember it was one of the late Studebakers, the Avanti rings a bell. I do remember it was very well made and had a no creep slushbox. You could take your foot off the brake at a light and it would not move forward until you hit the accelerator.

NATMUS, just behind the car museum, is well worth a stop, too.
