Re: 2023 Estelline Trip
yep, we did but what a difference a day can make ... we awoke to a beautiful morning ..... 59 degrees, predicted high 69 .... per the rain gauge on our campsite, just over 2" of rain yesterday, none called for today .... about the only things on tap for today are routine -- dump black tank, rotate water softeners, clean interior AC filters

Re: 2023 Estelline Trip
47 cool degrees early this morning in east central South Dakota .... no complaints, its baking not too far south of us .... the corn and other crops in this area really look good but harvest is too far down the line to take it for granted .... they say it will warm up quickly, projected high 76 .... first up today, Maureen's pup to a Vet for the next stage of her shots and exams .... shortly after lunch one of Maureen's sisters who lives in Minnesota who has been traveling out west for the last few weeks is coming for a visit .... uncertain how long she will be here

Re: 2023 Estelline Trip
another cool 54 degree morning under a cloudless sky in east central SD .... one of my wife's sisters is visiting and I cooked one of our hash brown scrambles for breakfast ..... it seemed to be a hit .... they are going to Brookings this morning for an "Arts In The Park Festival" .... I plan to spend some time cleaning our outdoor cooking equipment, its been heavily used for most of the last couple of weeks

Re: 2023 Estelline Trip
no celery or tomato (simply didn't have any on hand ..
Re: 2023 Estelline Trip
No mushrooms?
I'll have to try it, I'm always looking for different easy breakfast items. Get bored with the same old thing every morning. Also I try to cut down on the carbs and fat, been just adding some bacon bits to my scrambled eggs to cut down the fat, also limit myself to one carb item so if I have hash browns, no toast. Have also found that toaster waffles with some fresh berries and a little bit of reduced calorie syrup is not bad. I love pancakes but I tend to put a lot more syrup on them.
I love Biscuits and Gravy too but don't make it very often as I always want 3 Jumbo Biscuits which is a lot of carbs.
Being in Washington we do see Vidalia onions occasionally but during their season Walla Walla sweets are the go to sweet onions here.
Interesting article comparing Walla Walla's to Vidalias
