long day .... in fact, a very long day .... with traffic blockages due to accidents and construction, it took us 8 hrs to cover 423.3 miles .... shortly after we got here a long time friend came by and we delivered just under $800 worth of steaks .... from there things took a down hill turn .... we have a short in the camper's 12V system .... I've looked the area over and can't figure out what's going on .... the friend to whom we brought the steaks will be back tomorrow and hopefully take care of the electrical problem .... as it turns out, scheduling a couple of days to spend here before pulling out Monday morning may come in very handy

its been one of those days .... when our friend arrived to take care of the camper's 12V system issues, he turned it on and guess what, yep, it worked to perfection .... that was just under 5 hours ago and its been working that way every since .. :? .. he lives a few minutes from our campground and has promised to come right back if/when needed

Glad it's back on. Maybe you can trace the problem down when you get back home. Be safe!

its a mystery to me .... the 12V circuit in the living area has some freaky gremlins ... its blowing 20 amp fuses on several lines .... we are 3 days drive from home and if we don't find something tomorrow we are probably going to have to limp her back .... if we were in Texas I'd know who to call but back home I don't

not too long after posting the comment above, a friend who lives near our campground came over to help .... he retired from Boeing where he worked on Fighter Jets ..... he has extensive experience working on electronics but none related to campers ..... I then called a friend from back home who is an Electrical Engineer and has extensive experience with RV systems .... they spent most of three hours working one the problem but in the end the fuse continued to blow, so we were right back where we started ....bottom line, there is a very high probability of an electrical short in the camper's fridge .... we are due to get back home on Wednesday and our friend plans to come by on Friday .... the frig is a bit under 5 years old .... if its bad, we may see if we can find an home style that will fit in the compartment

today's destination is Clarksville RV Park in Clarksville, TN .... per Google Maps doing so should take just over 4 hours to cover under 300 miles .... per the forecast, no chance of rain but plenty of high temps .... we hope to be on the road by 9AM but with a short day, that's not an issue

per Google Maps, 353 mile drive from Clarksville, TN to Swannanoa, NC on tap for today .... for the first time in many moons we are headed back to the Eastern Time Zone .... our last fuel stop for this trip should be at a truckstop on I-40 located just before we cross back into NC .... with its high fuel taxes, we make it a practice take fill our tanks prior to crossing back into NC ....

sometimes you get lucky .... a car sideswiped our truck during today's drive .... as best I can remember we were in Nashville driving a section where I-24 and 40 run together .... 4 east bound lanes .... the left two lanes were closed, looked to me like they had just been paved .... a row of barrels separated then from the right two lanes .... I was driving in the lane near the barrels .... all of a sudden a red SUV flashed by below my window and I heard a ripping sound, I was pretty sure he'd hit us but didn't feel anything .... absolutely no clue where he came from but he had to have hit some barrels .... I hit the horn as he vaulted ahead into our lane and took off .... I didn't get a good look at his car and he really took off, no way I could have caught him .... later at a rest area I looked and found the following .... first picture, our passenger's side front tire .... the rest show the driver's side front tire with the lug nut covers baby moon hub cap ripped off .... he also hammered that tire's pressure sensor .... I'd sure have liked to see the damage to his vehicle
