Instead of going to the range today I decided to work in the yard. The range opened on Friday and from what I hear it is very busy. Tomorrow will be my range day.

In the meantime I continue to work on my yard.

I’m borrowing the neighbors gator to move the second 14 yard load of gravel. This path needs widening so I can get the gator through. On the first load of gravel I drove around the house. This is where I’m dumping most of it. I have a vintage Fiber-Steam travel trailer I’m going to park here. I have also put some in the upper pathways.
Here is my lawn art I made with old metal bed frames.

Very nice. Pride of ownership shows. Those Gators are real handy too..

The Gator is great but that shovel looks awful. Wish I was closer, I could give you a hand with my tractor with loader. Bummer.

However, your place looks great and that vintage trailer is going to be a nice addition. You certainly have an artists touch with your deco!!!

I’m back to shoveling gravel after a morning of range time. I want to put this trailer.......... ........into this location. It will go where the burn pile is on the left.

Still a lot of gravel to shovel and then rocks to move. I want it to look like it is sitting on a rock foundation. Might even build a primitive shelter over it.

Is it going to block your view of the wheel barrels?

No it should come even with the orange barrel with maybe the tongue hanging forward of it.

I burned the wood and moved the rock. I still need to spread more gravel but the space is almost ready for the trailer. I removed the rocks from around the base of the trailer and can be hitched to the gator anytime. I still need to throw another load of gravel on the ramp and put some timbers on the grass/dirt to keep the trailer level while backing it into position. My goal is to move it next Saturday with help from four neighbors. Once it’s in position rock will need to be moved back into position under the trailer. I might not have enough and might just order another 16 tons.

That is why I said 16 tons. The truck can only carry about 12-14 tons

Meanwhile back at the ranch.......

This is the angle of the land I needed to use to back the trailer into its final resting spot. I was afraid it would tip over so I had to level it. Here the gator is earning its keep. I’ll be removing the gravel and dirt between the top and bottom. There she sets. It still needs to be leveled and the rock foundation put under it.

Lookn' good Gene. Looks like some hard work though. Careful moving/shoveling all that stone! You have a wonderful looking and functional home.

Thanks Mark. It’s a labor of love. Sometimes I think I should have sold the house and moved into an apartment. But then I think about the day it’s finished and that keep me going.

In the last four years I have moved 80 ton of rock and about 40 yards of gravel.

In the past I would just keep working till I couldn’t lift a finger. Now I know when to stop and take a rest. And by rest I’m talking two days not 15 minutes.

Coming together nicely, i sure like the looks of that vintage trailer. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Thanks. The trailer is a highly collectible one piece fiberglass body with no fender flairs. It also has tandem axles.

That was a lot of hard work!
