The bushes in front of my house are looking long ing the tooth and are misplaced. Plus every winter I plow gravel onto the lawn. This week I’m going to rip it all out and extend the gravel all the way to the from deck. You can kind of see where I sprayed a line with roundup. I plan on putting some large Michael Carr pots where the shrubs are. And there is a big void to the left of the bottom window. A nice dwarf Japanese maple might look nice there. And of course I’m going to line the roadway to the shop with large rocks. I said this week but I bet it takes me all summer.

If it takes all summer, oh well. It sounds like a very nice plan and I'm sure you will bring us all along as it happens.

I bought these rocks and they will be delivered this week. I’ll be posting about it on the garage/road thread.

Nice rocks. I moved a lot of rocks back in my younger days but none that big. I did have a few big ones that I moved by driving a steel post in the ground and using a come-along and chains on the rock. All of my rocks were on my property hillside or along side the road, the biggest ones were fairly close to where I wanted them, the rest were loaded onto a small flatbed trailer and carried or rolled to where I wanted them. I can't even imagine doing something like that now, it was a lot of work.

That’s cool. You can come and work on mine. I asked the quarry guy how much the rocks weighed and he guessed the heaviest was around 1,500 pounds. My Branson can only lift 750 but can drag much bigger if I get the traction.

On some of them you might be able to get enough partial bucket lift/leverage to to roll them along.

That’s what I did with the last patch. I would scoop them with the bucket and not lift them. The bottom of the bucket is smooth and slid atop the grass.

Couple of those rocks might not look to bad in front of the deck
