I’m leveling a spot in my backyard to have a fire pit and space for a camper of some sort.

A trip down memory lane. This was my backyard in Washington.

It’s nice to be able to play and not work.

I’ve been playing on the tractor. One more day and I should be ready to spread the gravel.

Gene, is that campground going to have full hookups, water, electric and sewer?

Are you planning to use a compacter or heavy roller on that raw soil? Otherwise it might not be very satisfactory. Do you plan to add a retaining wall at the up slope? Drainage?

Hurry up and finish. Looking great! Then you can sponsor a big Henry Forum camp out!...
I'm sure your neighbors are impressed by your ambition.
Way to go Gene!

It will have electricity for one stationary vintage trailer. Restrooms are third bush to the left. Water is nearby.
This area will mainly be used as a campfire area and an old camper where I can take a nap fully clothed and covered with dirt. The kitchen will be 30 feet away in the garage.

My setup here will be totally different yet will do the same thing.
An overall view of the kitchen and fire pit area where the tractor is now.

And two more chairs. This faces the morning sun and where I have my first cup of coffee for the day.

I will add more sitting areas. They don’t all have to be together. Places where a couple can wander off in a crowd and be alone.
If I build it they will come.

I’m thinking they will get some use next year. I spend six hours in the tractor seat today.

I spend most of the day working on my range. This is a side view to show the berm. The impact area will be to the left and shooting from the left.

The edge needs to be completed and the fire pit put in place. I may also move the picnic table here.

Invitations will be sent out on stone tablets. You are welcome anytime. You should see the place with no snow. This fall would be nice with the fall colors.

I bought ten sets of rusted metal bed frames to make a fence around the fire pit area. It will keep people from jumping down the two foot embankment and eroding the wall.
