I stopped into my LGS yesterday who is a Gold Henry dealer. I asked about the availability of Henrys in general and particularly the 30-30 steel. He told me that the steel 30-30 is nearly impossible to get and that the Henry distributors allocate them and most go to the distributors biggest customers. That makes it tough for the small guys to compete. He told me to try (as some on here have done) to call Henry and try to get them to ship one directly to my LGS.
Also he told me that prior to Covid he as a Gold Dealer could contact Henry and get a drop ship directly from the factory. (Drop ship is the rifle is shipped to the dealer but billed to the distributor) Since covid Henry doesn’t do this any longer.
He did have a brass 30-30 on hand and a 45 Colt X model available and overall probably a good dozen Henrys in stock. That’s an increase from what I’ve been seeing at this particular shop.
