Single Shot thoughts
Re: Single Shot thoughts
Henry's website says the steel is shipping in May and the brass in July. I may change my mind and have to get one of these instead of a Big Boy All Weather. I have always loved single shot rifles. And, Henry lists the barrel twist rate in .44 as 1 in 20". That makes it particularly appealing for slow moving loads like I enjoy and big heavy 300 & 320gr bullets. I am predicting that accuracy in these will be exceptional.

My thoughts, its everything the other company's single shots ain't, including the metal trigger guard. I do wish either Henry or Winchester would make a 30-30 single shot though.

Plus one on the 30-30. Having shot 30-30 in a TC Contender, it makes an excellent round in a single shot. Kind of surprised Henry didn't offer this with their new single shots, but half suspect it's just a matter of time.

Re: Single Shot thoughts
My 1sy inclination is a single shot 45/70. But the difference between the twist rates of my Big Boy 44 mag and the single shot will likely make a brass 44 mag SS my 1st one. Real curious to see how it shoot the same ammo next to my Big Boy.

I don't know why but they told me they will never offer it in 30-30, Winchester told me the same about the 1885.
