Today was to be overcast with no rain however it has rained almost the entire time. The forecast is for rain for the next five days. So it was now or never.

I shot my Henry Frontier Mares Leg in .22WMR. I converted a .22LR Mares Leg to win mag several years ago before Henry made it in that caliber. They still don’t make one with the octagon barrel so this may be the only one in existence.

It has a custom large loop, Skinner mount with a Stevens 3 hole peep and a Lyman globe up front.

After 50 shots in the rain it was time to leave.

Just down the road is Snoqualmie Falls. Not much to see there.

Further down the road at a posted elk crossing was a few dozen elk.

The cell phone sure can’t take a decent telephoto picture.

Were those over on the peninsula? Looks like it. I was born in Aberdeen, and used to see elk alongside 101 pretty regular in the '50s. Fished for steelhead in the Humptulips and other rivers, and pickin' chanterelles and berries. Still have relatives there. Haven't been back to visit in about 20years. I do miss it out in the rain forest.

ETA: Oops. Just noticed you took those in Snoqualmie. Oh, well. Still reminds me of days gone by. :)

That's a nice little package that Mare's Leg! How many rounds does it hold?

Five plus one however I usually just load five. I don’t think very many people top off a lever. Six will actually fit but it’s a tight close and too much trouble. Plus I like metering out five rounds from the plastic sleeves.

Even tho Gene’s pic is foggy I can attest to the fact that Snoqualmie Falls is wonderful. There is a nice lodge there, I’ve never stayed there but my brother did and he said it was fantastic. A must stop if you are ever driving over Snoqualmie Pass on I-90.

That’s going to be a pretty busy bull in your group picture.

I can attest to that too, great place. I practice with my Rossi Ranchhand but I can’t use like Sir Henry, I couldn’t hit a bull in the butt if I was 2 feet away. :x

There was quite a herd at bear river on the 101 in Pacific county few weeks ago, no bulls. Snoqualmie is a beautiful area AND that's a very nice mares leg you built, your a true craftsman
