Feed problem

Went to the range today with my 357 x. I had a problem with the last round not feeding sometimes. It was loaded with 7 rounds.
The Round was in a nose down position case up. One round I had to use a screw driver to get it loose. Others I just had to turn the gun ejection port up and shake the gun and the round would move enough to let me rack the round into the chamber.
I was firing Pmc Bronze 158 grain semi jacketed soft points.
I would like to try some other brands and weights as you know it is difficult to get exactly what you want.
Any body have any idea if this is a problem that needs Henry's attention or just hold on until I can get other brands of ammo.

I'm sure you'll get a few replies about this.

SAAMI spec ammunition should feed properly right down to the last round.

I'm no gunsmith or even an adequate gun tinkerer, so I could easily be wrong, but I'd guess the problem is in the magazine tube. You could check to be sure the inner tube is clean and functioning properly; that is, that the spring is strong enough to push the follower all the way to the bottom so that the last cartridge moves fully into position. If not, you may be able to determine the reason and correct it yourself. Others may have different suggestions about what may be happening and what you can try to do yourself.

Nonetheless, it certainly couldn't hurt to call (not write) Henry CS and describe the problem to them.

Let us know how you make out.

I did clean the feeder tube when I got home. I used the brass brush with ballistol , then a patch with Ballistol, then a clean patch or two. There was some residue in the tube.
Will give the gun another chance and see what happens.
I have less then 200 rounds through it.

Try some ammo with a round nose profile AND no exposed soft lead. The lead can deform and also hang up. Some Hornady XTPs would be a good test, they are affordable, or any full metal jacket range ammo. Have you tried snap caps? I like the A-Zoom ones.

My .44 Mag X had to go back because it would not feed ANY ammo at all, nor snap caps. It works fine now.

Thank for the suggestion. I have been looking for other brands of ammo. Getting hard to find. I have used snap caps, when I first got the gun. They did function without a problem, they are a Zoom brand.
