I just returned from the range where I shot my Mare’s Leg at 25 yards kneeling. I was shooting .22 Aquila SuperExtra Short High Velocity. What is great about the shorts is you can fit 15 in the magazine tube.

This was my best group kneeling although most groups were about the same. The inner white circle is 2 1/2” which I’m claiming as the kill zone for a squirrel. So I would have only gotten 11 of 15 squirrels.

The ML is wearing a front Lyman globe with a center dot post. In the rear is a William’s receiver mount with a Stevens 3-hole peep.

Thanks. It would put food in the pot.

It also has a custom large loop.

Looks like a Chuck Conners Mares leg. Looks good Gene you even remembered all the shooting requirements for the bench. Never shot one of those mares legs looks like it might take some getting use to. Is that remnants of clay pigeons on the bank behind the target?

Yes it is Al. Some are big enough to shoot at and I also plinked at them. Overall it was a fun day. Not the best of shooting but good enough.

I also shot two of these targets. Five round groups gave me a windage of less than an inch but the elevation for pushing four inches.

You'd need a partner with your camera, Gene. Maybe next time you shoot this model? It would be cool to see a sequence of pics showing how you recycle that lever on the ML. Double challenge on shooting that "snubby" Henry. ;) Always great to see that coffee cup.

That really is good shooting, Gene. After all, the ML is a handgun and anyone who shoots a handgun would love to have those 25 yard groups.

Thanks Joanie. It felt good to be thinking about sight and trigger.

Nice shootin' with that Mare's Leg! I have one in 45 Colt and use a single point sling to help stabilize it.
