Range Report: Securite Gun Club

Since all of my firearms are in boxes I didn’t take anything to shoot. Just as well because they were busy and had a waiting list for a lane.

I asked if I could take pictures and they said take all I want of the store but ask permission of anyone that was in the picture. Since the store was crowded I only took a couple and made an appointment for next week to take pictures of the actual range. They were aware I would be posting them online.

Everyone seemed friendly and knowledgeable.

This is a brand new building. From the size the range can’t be longer than 25 yards.

This is a Henry .410 shotgun. Quality and finish was superb.

Range prices seemed to be high but it is a state of the art range.

The range I visit costs me $55/yr, has 3 trap stations, pistol and rifle range (25yard - 200yard) with six shooting stations covered and a couple open. They shoot trap on the weekends during the winter and also Wednesday spring thru Fall at a per set cost of $10 I think. Everyone gets the code for the lock and you can shoot from 10am to half hour before sunset. Of course there are no reservations, it is catch as catch can but is usually empty during the week. Paper targets and clays only, no metal. I suits me pretty well as I don't have enough property for my own range.

It is just a 25 yard range.
Way too Posh and 'sterile' for me.

Well I guess it cost some money to keep it nice!

Sir Henry...anytime you can get out to the East coast stop on by the Black Branch (creek) Range.
No fees for friends and no charge on refreshments. Targets...anything that comes to mind...paper,steel,pumpkins,whatever!

Looks to me like it would be a good place for an east coast get together Forty

The outdoor range I belong to is $100 a year and $25 for seniors. The shooting benches are primitive but very functional. They are also covered which is important in this area.

Ours is $165/yr but $65 refund if you help maintain the place. I did today; me a couple of guys put the big doors back on the tracks of the shooting shed that someone had pushed too hard and they came off. Each big sliding door is a couple hundred lbs and the wind today was about 60 mph. Anyhow, $100 bucks for the year and I have the range to myself most of the time. 25/50/100/200/250 yd lanes. Nice sheds, benches to shoot from if you want.
